Amaranthus "Stillwater Mix" Seed
Amaranthus caudatus and Amaranthus cruentus.
A mix of flowering Amaranthus with trailing and upright flower form. Colours vary with tones of Rustic Caramel, Salmon, Burgundy and Crimson.
This seed has been open-pollinated / cross bred in New Zealand. Some seed may be true to parent variety and some seed may produce cross bred hybrids.
Annual - For Cut Flower Use
Sow: Spring, summer
Spacing: 20-30cm in final growing position
Site: Full Sun
Growing: Sow in cells or trays. Surface sow onto moist seed raising mix, light is needed for germination.
Keep seed moist. Water from underneath until seeds have sprouted, you can lightly cover after germination with seed raising mix or vermiculite. Can be pinched out to encourage branching. Germination: 7-14 days at 21 degrees.
Plant out once risk of frost has passed.
Height: Can reach 1m+.
Harvesting: For drying, pick when the flowers have matured.
For fresh flowers, pick when 80% of blooms have matured.
